Email Addresses and Zoom
This article lists important information for Faculty, Staff, and Students to understand how Boise State email addresses interact with Zoom Accounts.
To get a Zoom account, please sign in at boisestate.zoom.us.
Everyone at Boise State should only have 1 (one) Zoom account, even if they have both a student email address and an employee email address.
Your Zoom account uses your “PeopleSoft Preferred Email Address.” Because of this, email addresses cannot be manually changed within Zoom.
If you are primarily a student, the preferred email address is your student email.
If you are primarily an employee, the preferred email address is your employee email.
You can see your email address in Zoom by signing into boisestate.zoom.us/profile and scrolling down to your email.
Click the eyeball icon to show the email address and see which email your Zoom account uses.
If you switched recently from being primarily a student to primarily an employee or vice-versa, please sign into http://boisestate.zoom.us and your email address will be updated to reflect the new primary affiliation.
Please Note: It may take a day or two after your primary affiliation (employee versus student) changes in order for the change to take effect; if you expect to see a change, please wait a day and sign in again to http://boisestate.zoom.us to see if the email address has updated.
There are no issues with student-employees using Zoom accounts that have their student email address. All Zoom accounts at Boise State have the same permissions for faculty, staff, and students. If you are a student-employee, please assure your supervisor that it is fine for the Zoom account to use your student email.
If you are primarily a student, you cannot change your Zoom account to use your employee email address. If you are primarily an employee, you cannot change your Zoom account to use your student email address.
