Providing Audio/Video Feedback in Canvas
Summary
This article outlines the process of providing audio or video feedback to students while grading.
Instructions
Navigate to your Assignments page.
Click on the assignment you want to grade.
Go to the SpeedGrader by clicking the link on the right side of the page.
In SpeedGrader, click on the Media Recording icon (play icon in box). This will appear on the right side of the page, under the Assignment Comments section.
You can either record or upload media by switching the tab in the pop-up window.
Recording Media
These instructions assume you have performed the steps in the first section, and will begin where those steps left off.
Select the Record Media tab.
Enter a Title for your media feedback.
On the left side, choose the Video icon (webcam) for video feedback, or the Audio icon (microphone) for audio feedback.
Allow the page access to your microphone and/or webcam.
Click anywhere within the box to begin recording your feedback. When you're done, click anywhere in the same box to end the recording.
The feedback will automatically play back. If you are happy with your recording, click Save. If you want to re-record, click the Record icon (red dot).
When you're done, the feedback will appear under Assignment Comments on the SpeedGrader page.
Uploading Media
These instructions assume you have performed the steps in the first section, and will begin where those steps left off.
Select the Upload Media tab.
Click Select Audio File to upload audio or Select Video File to upload video.
The pop-up window will disappear, and the feedback will appear under Assignment Comments on the SpeedGrader page.
