Gemini Apps (Formerly Google Bard)

Summary

Gemini Apps (formerly Bard) is Google's conversational artificial intelligence chat service. It is similar to ChatGPT. Students, faculty, and staff have access to Google Gemini through their Boise State accounts.

Instructions

  1. On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.

  2. If you’re not already signed in, sign in to your Boise State Google account.

  3. In the text box at the bottom, enter your question or prompt.

  4. Optionally, to add a photo to your prompt, click the Upload Image.

  5. Click Submit.

Considerations

  1. Your conversations are processed by human reviewers to improve the technologies powering Gemini Apps. Don’t enter anything you wouldn’t want reviewed or used.

  2. Don’t use student information protected by FERPA with Gemini.

  3. You must be at least 18 to access Gemini Apps.

  4. Gemini may display inaccurate info, including information about people, so double-check its responses.

  5. Gemini works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, or Edgium browsers.

  6. Don’t rely on responses from Gemini Apps as medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.

  7. Gemini may use your location to provide more relevant responses to your prompts; learn how to manage your location.
