Group Assignment Self Evaluation

This article provides suggested wording for student self-evaluation for group assignments.

Be prepared to conduct a self-evaluation at the end of each module about your participation in all of your group assignments for the module. You will be asked to answer the following questions in the self-evaluation.

  1. I contributed to the success of other members of my group by doing one or more of the following tasks:

    1. In our discussions, I tried to build on ideas suggested by my classmates, or I respectfully explained the merits of different views

    2. I noticed when people were not participating and respectfully invited my classmates to engage in the group

    3. I was polite and constructive in my communication with my classmates to engage in the group assignment.

    4. I conveyed a positive attitude about the course and the assigned work

    5. I addressed destructive conflict directly and constructively, helping to manage/resolve it in a way that strengthened overall group cohesiveness and future interactions

  2. I invested sufficient time and mental effort to to help my group produce high-quality work that followed all assignment guidelines

  3. I actively participated in each group assignment and helped make sure all work was submitted by the due date

  4. Write a brief paragraph in which you report how you contributed to your group's effort to meet the expectations and requirements of the group assignment.
