Boise State Standard 9.1. Instructor welcomes feedback from learners. (Important)

Learners are encouraged to actively participate by providing feedback on their learning experience throughout the course. Opportunities for such feedback include mechanisms like a mid-course survey and self-assessment exercises, which are integral to fostering an inclusive learning environment (eC2 Inclusivity). These self-assessment or reflection exercises are designed not only to engage learners in evaluating their own progress and understanding but also to offer a structured opportunity to reflect on and communicate their overall experience in the course. This approach ensures that learners have a voice in the learning process, enabling educators to adjust and tailor the educational experience to meet the diverse needs of all students.

Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI)/How this standard supports RSI

  • Direct impact: When an instructor receives feedback from a module survey or mid-course evaluation, they can share their thoughts with students during the course, whether or not changes are made to the course.
