Testing Canvas Students with Bronco Clan
There are several paths for Teachers to test their courses from the student perspective:
Click View as Student
Log in as a Bronco Clan user
Bronco Clan access requires requesting access and then following specific Bronco Clan Use Rules (listed below).
Accessing Bronco Clan Information
To access the password each term you will need to first map the fircreek3 drive by access the this PC > My computer > Map Network Drive
Folder: \\fircreek3\BroncoClan\
Username to access fircreek3: boisestate\BSUusername
Read the text file and copy user information you need. Passwords are required information for you to grab in order to log in and test as that student user.
The passwords change frequently for security. Once added, you will recieve emails from accounts@boisestate.edu letting you know when passwords have changed. You will likely need to Access Bronco Clan Information most times you use them.
Using Bronco Clan Users
To use the Bronco Clan, you need to enroll the user(s) in the sandbox(es) you want to test in as a Course Administrator or Teacher.
Once the Bronco Clan user is enrolled, log in to that user in an incognito window.
Test the functionality you’re looking for.
Once you’re done testing, return to your Teacher/Course Administrator Canvas role and remove the user(s) from your course(s).
Bronco Clan Use Rules
Use in an incognito window
Only use the Bronco Clan ID/Password to log in to my.boisestate and access Canvas
Do not change any student settings in the account, including passwords
Only add to Canvas Sandboxes
Never give the Bronco Clan information to anyone else
Do not email or text passwords or post on Google Docs
Unenroll Bronco Clan user as soon as you’re done using it
