Captioning YouTube Videos

Captioning YouTube Videos

Summary

YouTube automatically generates captions for your videos. However, if the captions don't generate or are inaccurate, you can add your own.

Instructions

We strongly suggest using Panopto instead of YouTube for your Boise State related videos.

  1. Access the Video Manager by clicking on your account image in the top right and selecting Creator Studio > Video Manager > Videos.
  2. Find the video you want to add captions to and click the dropdown icon next to the Edit button.
  3. Select Subtitles and CC.
  4. You can now review and edit the closed captions.
