In the circumstance where an instructor might want to give a different grade to a single member of a group, here is how:
Create a Group Assignment in your Canvas Course
Leave the “grade students individually” unchecked.
Have all students submit their Group Assignments.
Once all Group Assignments have been Graded by the Instructor, go back to the Assignment and Edit it. Check the: Check the “Grade Students Individually” box.
There is a warning message that students have already participated in the assignment, it is okay to disregard.
Select Save in the bottom-right of the screen.
The instructor can now go to Grades and enter individual grades for individual students.
